ABOUT
Andrea Koch is a landscape and abstract artist inspired by hiking boots and sun-soaked days spent in nature. Rendered in both acrylics and oils, her works sample detailed plant forms, canyons, mountains, and alpine lakes. With a background in architecture and time spent living in Angola, Thailand, and Nigeria, Andrea developed an eye and appreciation for the careful study of place. Plein-air paintings, meditative sketching, and photo + cut + collage inform her process. Similar to collecting a rock from a trail or shell from a shoreline, Andrea gathers photos and sketches of daylight, shape, and color, to create mementos from her travels. She hopes her work inspires others to get out into the wild, slow down, and take time to appreciate the raw beauty available to each of us in the natural world.
